Privacy Policy

The short version

Fly107Prep doesn't sell your data, doesn't require an account to use the free tools or the app, and doesn't collect any payment info directly — Apple and Gumroad handle that. We collect an email address if you choose to give us one, and the app stores your quiz progress only on your own device. That's most of it. The rest of this page spells out exactly what, where, and why.

Information we collect

On the website (fly107prep.com)

• Email address — only if you submit it, via a study-tool signup, the daily quiz, or the feedback form. Used to send you study tips, the free 14-day plan, and occasional product updates. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• Feedback you submit — anything typed into the feedback form, plus an optional email if you want a reply.
• License key — if you enter a purchased license key to unlock the app, it's checked against Gumroad's verification system and saved in your browser's local storage so you don't have to re-enter it. We don't store it on our own servers.
• Basic usage data — standard web analytics (pages visited, general location by region, device/browser type) via Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) Pixel, used to measure which content and ads are actually helpful. See "Advertising & analytics" below.

In the iOS app

• No account or sign-up required. The app works fully offline for studying — no email, no login.
• Purchase / entitlement status — if you buy the full unlock via Apple's In-App Purchase, Apple and RevenueCat process the transaction and tell the app whether you're entitled to full access. We never see or store your payment details.
• License key (Restore Access) — if you already own a key from the website, entering it to restore access stores the key securely on-device (Apple's Keychain, via expo-secure-store) and verifies it the same way the website does.
• Location (optional) — the "When Can I Fly?" tool asks for your location, only while the app is in use, to calculate today's sunrise, sunset, and civil-twilight window under §107.29(c). Your coordinates are sent to a public sunrise/sunset API to compute that result and are not stored by us or used for tracking or advertising. You can decline this permission and use every other part of the app normally.
• Push notifications (optional) — if you turn on the daily study reminder, Apple's notification service delivers it. No personal data is included in the notification content.
• Study progress — quiz scores, streaks, flashcard progress, and missed-question history are stored only on your device (local app storage) and are never sent to our servers.

Advertising & analytics

The website uses Google Ads (gtag.js) and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to understand which pages and ads lead to real study activity, and to measure ad performance. These services may use cookies or device identifiers under their own privacy policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your Google or Meta ad-settings, or by using a browser privacy/ad-blocking extension — the site works fully either way.

Payments

We never collect or store credit card numbers or other payment details.

• Web purchases are processed entirely by Gumroad. Gumroad's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
• iOS App Store purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit, with RevenueCat managing entitlement status. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children's privacy

Fly107Prep is intended for people studying for the FAA Part 107 commercial drone exam, which requires applicants to be at least 16. The app and site are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Your rights & choices

• Unsubscribe from any email anytime — every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, or reply "STOP."
• Delete your data — email hello@fly107prep.com and we'll remove your email address and any feedback tied to it. Since app progress lives only on your device, uninstalling the app deletes it.
• Access or correct what we have on file — same email address, we'll respond directly.
• We do not sell your personal information, and never have.

If you're in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR or the CCPA (access, deletion, portability, and opt-out of "sale" — which, again, we don't do). Reach out to the email above to exercise any of them.

Data retention & security

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Feedback is kept to help us improve the product. We use reputable, industry-standard providers (Netlify, Resend, Gumroad, Apple, RevenueCat) that maintain their own security practices; no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we don't collect more than we need in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site or app after a change means you accept the update.
